This series of images feature the marine life of Antarctica. Although there are no land animals that make a permanent home on the continent, the seas are rich in marine mammals such as whales and seals which feed mainly on krill, small shrimp like creatures which swarm in huge numbers during the Antarctic summer. There is enough food sources to support a large population of humpback and other whale species.
